The Didsbury Gusto has always been one of my favourites as I just think it’s such a lovely, big space. There’s a great little outside area for when the sun has got its hat on, as it did that morning, and the chic bar area perfectly transitions into the glam dining space with the grand walkway that dominates the middle of the restaurant.

We each grabbed a drink as we sat down, as whilst Lil went for a nice coffee, the heat of the day persuaded me to try one of their new iced teas, whilst Lucy went for a ‘Berry Go Round’ smoothie which consists of raspberries, blackberries and strawberries. I’ve never really been one to choose an iced tea off a menu but decided to give the orange & passionfruit because it sounded so refreshing – and it really was! I’m a bit of a convert now and definitely want to give their blueberry & lemon and elderflower & strawberry flavours a go too.

I honestly make no exaggeration when I say my choice was one of the most divine things I’ve ever eaten. I’m not sure if it’d be possible for Nutella and mascarpone to ever not taste incredible, if I’m honest, but whatever they did in the kitchen, they did well. It was, in all honesty, basically a dessert so I’d definitely only plump for it if you’re starving – I was and even so I absolutely couldn’t have finished it if I’d tried. In fact, I ate about half. The portion size is large and you definitely get a lot for your money.

Lucy and Lil’s dishes looked equally as delicious. I definitely think next time I’ll give the toasted seeded bloomer a go as it looked a little lighter but was still indulgent with the Nutella. Obviously, as a vegetarian fish doesn’t really appeal to me, and I’m not a big fan of eggs either, but I’ve got it on good authority from Lil that it was the best eggs Benedict she’d ever had.

If you’re in Didsbury you’re not short of places to go for brunch or a quick bite to eat but I’d 100% recommend visiting Gusto. As I mentioned in my last Gusto post, there’s such a wealth of fantastic independents on offer that I feel sometimes chains are overlooked. From my experience, Gusto is really killing it at the moment with their new menus and I’ll definitely be back for brunch, lunch and dinner.
